Instar

(instár) n. (zool.) an arthropod, at a specified stage between successive molts (Def. The New Lexicon Webster’s Dictionary of the English Language. 1998 edition.)

Instar is a multi-sensorial presentation of self-imposed confinement
within and escape from a facsimile of the artist’s body.
The performance is presented on three screens surrounding the viewer,
with looped audio and video.
The enclosed and reactive space emulates the restrictive environment of the body.
The visitor is invited to kneel and experience this emergence
within a space where the locative and temporal are collapsed.
